This one is great fun to paint. 
The red petals seem to writhe and undulate, a bit like an aquatic plant gently buffeted by the current.

Every spring one corner of my backyard becomes the temporary home of beautiful, huge, papery poppies. I love the maze of reds, and the delicate tissue paper blooms.
