I’m finally finished this one. I had great fun putting the blues and purples next to the reds and oranges and watching them play. And the way the shapes move and fit together worked really well in this one too :)

I have pretty much completed the tree and have only the background to do. I think I may have trouble when it comes to making prints of this one, the yellow sky is much nicer on the original. It either looks too gray or to light online. I foresee some extra work on this file. :)

But other than that, I love the movement of the reds, offset by the purple shadows. It really does look like she’s dancing. :)

The Edge of Autumn Fiesta!

I can’t call this painting The Edge of Autumn anymore, it’s too stodgy. And clearly this tree is having a party :)

I have some time off from the day job this week, so I’m able to paint more :)

Here’s where I am today. This is turning out to be one feisty tree!

I have started a new painting. :)

With this one I am exploring all the reds and oranges of a tree in full fall color. The days are still warm but the cool nights have turned the leaves from green to gold. It is 16 x 20 inches, acrylic on wood.
