Sunflowers – 18 x 24 – Acrylic on Wood – Reserved for Mayberry Fine Art
I love sunflowers. In this painting the flowers are writhing like flames. I love the sinuous motion of the petals and leaves. Maybe I will think of a better title that involves fire in some way. And I love the palette I’m using – all the cadmiums are complemented beautifully by cobalt green. It has such a lovely blue cast to it, the contrast between it and the oranges is just delightful.

Can’t wait to see how this progresses. I just finished a sunflower painting for my friend so the colours and petal flow are fresh in my mind.

Oh I’d like to see it – are you going to post it on your blog? I love the meadow painting you have up there now.

AMAZING. I haven’t commented for a while, Mandy, but I was compelled to say something this time. I can’t wait to see how this develops…what a gorgeous gorgeous colour palette!! Breathtaking.
