Towards Autumn - WIP Towards Autumn - WIP3
Jul 04

I love finding little mini stories within my paintings. (This seems to happen mostly with the larger ones.) In this one I have the yellow tree with the leaves moving out from the trunk in a kind of circular motion. It’s just standing there gently spinning like one of those paper windmills I played with as a child.

A work in progress of an autumn valley full of trees changing colour and the clouds above a dark gray by Canadian artist Mandy Budan.

I love seeing the paintings come to life on your blog.

Really excited to see how this one takes shape - I love it that you’re doing some BIG paintings.

Thanks Nigel! I like looking back at my earlier posts and seeing the painting’s progression. There’s a big painting that I want to do of a single birch against a dark autumn background. I don’t have my sketch for it yet but I’ve been thinking about it a lot. It will possibly be 3 x 5 feet and I will have to get a special panel made for it. :)

Wow - that will be huge!

    I’ll start saving ;-)

I was just thinking that you should start selling paint by number kits. :)

Nigel :) It’s ok there’s lots of time.

Thanks s a n s k u ! You’re not the first one to think of paint-by-numbers but I’m not sure, I’d have to provide about a billion mixed colours although it would be really interesting to see what people do :)
