I’m just starting a new painting - yay! One of my favourite parts of making paintings is that moment when all the preliminary work has been done and the very next step is to start in with the colours.
I’ve got the drawing on the panel and I think I will post weekly pictures to show the progression. This is my largest painting to date at 24 x 30 inches.

Not especially interesting yet, but I’m excited!

Wow! I didn’t know you pre-draw your paintings. I always thought you “winged it”. Seeing this makes your work even more amazing.

Thanks Sammo! I always start with a drawing and then sometimes I follow it very closely and sometimes it becomes a loose guide.

Hello!
I first saw your paintings on Etsy and I have to say, I absolutely love them! I’m a huge fall fan, so your colors are especially appealing to me. It’s such a unique style that is especially intriguing after seeing your above post with how you start it all. I’m actually a bit jealous that you can paint like that! I’d love to have that talent
Do you sell originals? Hopefully some day I’ll be able to buy something of yours, we have a huge wall with nothing on it, so I’m excited to see that you’re starting large format paintings.
Keep up the great work, I’m interested to see how your painting above finishes!

Thanks Alli!
I do sell originals, but lately they go pretty fast
I have a small 5×7 on ebay right now - http://cgi.ebay.com/budanArt-Original-Abstract-Landscape-Painting-Cloud-Sky_W0QQitemZ250204760465QQihZ015QQcategoryZ20135QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
And I may offer the Last Rose of Summer for sale in the next few weeks.

Wow. I found your blog through Etsy, your art is insane of amazing! I love your style!! Being an artist myself, and being the odd person that I am, I hardly ever buy anyone else’s work. I have to say though, you are one of the very few of whose work I would buy. I absolutely love it. Great stuff!!

I imagined how you might start a painting… didn’t occur to me that it would be with pencil! You should sell paint-by-number kits!
Got your cards on Christmas Eve, can’t wait to hang them in my kitchen!!

Thanks so much everyone!
I’m glad you got your cards Creative! I don’t know if I could do the paint-by-number kits - there would have to be billions of mixed colours

This is a very unique perspective on how you paint. I love it! And I love all the prints I have purchased from you. They decorate my dining room quite well.

Thanks LeeAnn! I’m starting to realize that not everyone paints the way I do
And I’m so glad you like the prints.
