Abstract Landscape – Winter Light

I’m done! And I’m pleased with it too I wanted to capture the sunset in the winter forest; lots of warm yellows and oranges against the cool snow. And I wanted it to have a stained-glass, cathedral atmosphere too.

Next weekend I’m going to do a 5 x 7 that I think I will list on ebay. I will let everyone know through my newsletter.

I still haven’t finished my commission sketch yet – I’ll go work on it now

Here’s the latest progress on my new painting. I’m really enjoying the colours on this one. (I think I said that on my last painting too ) I think one more weekend and I will be finished. I’d better get to work on the sketch for my commission – yikes!

Here’s my latest progress. I got quite a bit done this weekend. I love the way the cool blues and purples of the snow are offset by the bright oranges and yellows of the sunlight through the trees.

Off to a good start. I had the sketch on the panel and ready to go by Saturday night so I was able to get some painting done Sunday.

I’m starting a new 12 x 16! I have a commission to do but the sketch isn’t finished yet, so I’m doing this one in the interim.
