I’ve finished the sky – yay! The clouds are moving briskly and some leaves have been blown off the tree by the passing storm. Next up is the rest of the maple and the surrounding trees.

Now you can see more of the dark storm clouds. I’m still working on the side of the Maple that’s in shadow. I like the movement I’m getting with this one. The leaves are restless, shifting and defining their positions as their reprieve sinks in. The clouds are rolling away in search of another victim.

I’m working some more on the dark side of the tree. I want to get to the right hand side of the painting where the clouds and leaves are darker. 24 x 30 used to feel so big, but lately it’s been feeling a little cramped.
