About

I am a Canadian artist who works primarily in acrylic.

I paint abstracts of the landscape, emphasizing and rearranging the elements to show the beauty of the landscape in unexpected ways. Inspired by nature, I use strong colour, discrete shapes and rhythmic patterns to create paintings which can be enjoyed for both their abstract and realistic qualities.

I wanted to leave you a note in appreciation for your beautiful work! I know how difficult it is to simplify or abstract the complexity and wonder of landscape, and your work is an inspiration.

    Hi Mandy,
I sent you a message a few months ago describing how much I love your work and asked to use some images for my high school art lessons. You kindly gave me permission:)

I may be going out on a limb here, but I am wondering if you would possibly be willing to come to our school and give my art students a presentation of your work? It would be so awesome for them. Perhaps you already do this kind of thing and if there is a going rate, please let me know!!

If you are interested at all, I will give you more info. The school is in east Scarborough.

    Thanks so much in advance,
    Esther

Hi Mandy, I wanted to say from one artist to another, that your work is truly beautiful! Where are you from. I read a description of an older painting describing a Muskoka forest? Ontario?
    Anyway, you rock.

    Hi Crystal

Thanks so much! Yes, I’m from Ontario – Pickering to be exact. I go up to Muskoka when I can to get references and stuff. :)

Hi Esther I’m sorry I didn’t get this message sooner. And I’m so sorry but I don’t think I would be comfortable presenting and I expect I would do it quite badly. :) But thank you for asking!

I just found your work ‘abstracting the landscape’ of the aspen-like trees surrounded by green that you posted on sept 2012 titled ‘hide and seek’ – it is AWESOME! I love your style, looking through some of your other stuff. do you have any posters for sale of hide and seek? thanks-

I’m a high school student and I told my art teacher about you and she loves you. I have a similar style and wanted to show you a flower I did inspired by your art. It’s acrylic on watercolor paper and I got a 100 on it thank you for inspiring me your art is amazing!

Ms. Mandy your work is breath taking, truly! Do you have any shows in Toronto coming up by any chance? I am just rather blown away by your work here. Totally inspiring!
