my sister and my mother gave me some acrylics and I started to look beyond the graphic design I had been doing for so long and back to painting.

My first attempt (which I was surprised to find I had kept) was a strong hint of the shapes and colours that I’m still exploring today, but I can remember the frustration with paint that dried almost before I had squeezed it onto the palette.

So for the next few years I worked with oil and moved away from the shapes that I had instinctively made with my first acrylic. I couldn’t stay away from them for long however and then all of a sudden oil was drying much to slowly to accommodate the reworking that my style requires and it was back to acrylic.

I can’t wait to see what the next 15 years will bring! :)
