Hockley Valley – WIP2

Hockley Valley

12 x 16 – Acrylic on Wood

The branches of the dead tree remind me more and more of the steel plant in Hamilton. We drive the skyway often and the plant makes an impressive site. I’ve even taken ref pictures of it – I know it’s not a natural feature of the Canadian landscape but I’m finding it compelling nonetheless. It’s all slate buildings and orange fire wreathed in smoke and water. I may have to paint it. :)

Love, love, love your style. This one looks like it will be awesome!

Mandy, I have a question – I would like to purchase your large prints, but do not want to put them behind glass. Can you recommend the best way to mount them on a sturdy surface, add a little clear texture and mount in an open frame? I have one of your chunky prints that you mounted on wood and I love it.

Thanks so much Janice! I think instead of getting the prints framed you could take them to get plaque mounted – which is similar to my wood mounting I think. And then you can either get it framed or just hang it as is. I did that with a poster many years ago and it is still hanging nicely on my wall. :)
