Summer’s End – 36 x 48 – Acrylic on Wood

Not a lot of the drastic changes are actually visible yet – they are still swimming around in my head. But still, I did get a fair bit done.
Next up I have to integrate some more of the foreground with that land across the lake – tricksy but fun!
I love love love the huge range of colours in this painting. In the beginning it was a little overwhelming and I questioned whether I would be able to get them to play nicely together. Now I’m only a little worried – I still need to see that sky!

Tricksy!! That’s my word of the day!
As one of your favourite “stalkers”, I’m glad you’re posting so much of your progress. Call me crazy, but I’m kinda loving the weeds up front, although I too am curious about the sky (as well as those colours yet to fully come in on the right). The suspense is killing of us who aren’t inside your head!!
Andrea
(Oops, meant to say you’re one of my favourites to “stalk”, not the other way around!!)
lol Andrea! I don’t think I’m much good at stalking – I tend to get sidetracked.
I really like those weeds too. The reds and purples are great foils for these other brighter plants. I just did some more of the lighter orange ones and they are set off nicely too. I’m going to post it tomorrow.
Maybe we could do one of those ‘Being John Malkovich’ things, but that would be creepy and I don’t think you’d find anything anyway.
