Kaleidoscope – Done!

Kaleidoscope – 30 x 60 – Acrylic on Wood – Reserved for Mayberry Fine Art

Well I’m done. My biggest painting ever! (So far :) )

I love the colours on this one and the way they move up the painting. And the overall movement in the painting is fun too. Nothing is ever really still in my forests.

  1. This certainly is a large painting. How you can work that large totally confounds me. It’s beautiful, but I’m repeating myself.

Thanks Margaret! It was definitely different than working on smaller paintings, but it was a lot of fun and I think I will be doing it again! :)

Magnificent. I wish I could stand back 6 feet from this beauty and just soak up all that sun and shade and sway.

Beautiful piece. I like the progression shots you include in your blog too – it shows how much work went into the piece. I hope your readers and the piece’s collector appreciates all that went into the artwork.

I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks Kathleen! It is impactful in real life. I think it’s hard to imagine the size when you see it online. I didn’t get to keep it long enough to enjoy it though – it’s already at the gallery. I’ll just have to make another. :)

Thanks Dawn! I sometimes wonder about the progression shots. For me it’s all about the process and when I finish one painting I just start right into another. But for collector’s it’s all about the final piece and not as much about how I got there. But it’s fun to show them anyway. :)

    Mandy,

I went to Mayberry to see this tree. It is amazing!

Oh thanks Dara! I’m so glad you went to see it! :)

    Mandy,
Kaleidoscope is one of the most magnificent paintings that I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. I look at it in different ways each time I pass it. Sometimes from far: struck by its wonderful balance and happy spontaneous appearance. Sometimes from up close, after having reviewed its blog entries: amazed by the detail and meticulous effort undertaken to make up each individual colour patch.

    You are gifted.

Feel comforted, btw Kaleidoscope doesn’t live that far away.

Thanks E.! I don’t know what to say except thank you. I love making paintings and when someone else loves them too – it’s just the best!
