Maple Sky wip12

There.  I’ve darkened and blued the background a bit and I am much happier with it now. :) One more session and I should be done.  Which is good, because the next painting is waiting for me – not that I’m not enjoying this one, because I am!

  1. Mandy,
Just popped in to tell you how much I love this painting – and what you said, like “cannot wait till the next one” – those words recognize a true artist – which you truly are…
The very red colors which shows here and there on the ground among the greenery make the leaves almost glows like gold – well done..

I look forward to see what you will come up with in your next painting!
    Kindest,
    Carolisa

Super color expression Mandy. I need to thank you, because, after looking at your work over time I have come to realize I need to stop trying to copy nature and let nature inspire me. Today is another new beginning, thanks to your inspiration.

Thanks Carolisa! That’s funny, I almost feel guilty for being ready to start the next one before this one is completely done. :) But I am excited about it – it’s going to be sunflowers with lots of deep dark reds, oranges, purples and greens against the brighter yellow petals. And I have to get the sketch ready to go so that I can start painting as soon as I’m finished with Passing Storm so I can’t help thinking about it -lol.

Oh Wayne that’s so nice! I’m flattered that I inspire you. I’m always on the edge of trying to be true to the reality of the scene and the great fun of abstracting, (lately abstraction is winning – lol). I’m a big fan of your energetic and expressive brushwork – something I can never let go enough to experience I think. :)
