Towards Autumn WIP7

I’ve finished all the shadowy undergrowth. I loved using the cool greens and purples – normally reserved to show distance – in the foreground and the warmer greens and oranges right up against the grey sky.  I’m such a rebel :)

Contemporary abstract painting of a fall forest with beautiful reds, oranges, greens and purples by Canadian abstract landscape painter Mandy Budan.

Wow, I love the way that this painting is coming out. The colors are just wonderful and I feel like I can smell the scent of Fall by just looking at it.

Thanks Molly! I love the way the colours are coming out in this one – it really says Fall to me too! :)
